About Me
As principal and founder of Beanstalk Communications I have close to 20 years’ of writing, editing and communications strategy experience across the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
My specific areas of expertise include research, project management, copy writing for a variety of media (print, web, radio, video), stakeholder engagement, community relations, and employee communications, including attraction and recruitment.
Prior to founding my own consultancy, I spent 10 years in the oil and gas sector with Devon Canada as Supervisor Internal Communications, and in external relations with Shell Canada and Canadian Natural Resources Limited working in various communications roles within their oil sands operations, both mining and in-situ. Much of my work involved coordinating and collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams in Alberta and corporate offices in Oklahoma (Devon) and Europe (Shell).

I began my career with GPC International (now Fleishman Hillard), an international public relations agency, as an Account Coordinator, and later Account Manager. There, I developed my skills as a strategist and in client services, creating communication plans and programs and managing accounts for a variety of clients across diverse industries.

I hold Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Political Science from the University of Victoria, a Bachelor of Applied Communications from Mount Royal College and a Master of Communication Studies from the University of Calgary.

I live in Calgary, Alberta with my husband and two children.
